HISTORY,
BACKGROUND & USES:
Discovered in ancient times. It is dense, precious, and has a bright yellow color. It is
a good conductor of heat and electricity and is soft and very
malleable and ductile. It is the malleablist (if that's even a
word!) metal known to man. An ounce of it can be pounded in to
a sheet of 300 square feet. In thin sheets it transmits green
light. It is used in printed circuits and semiconductors.
